Twilight star Kristen Stewart prefers to keep fans guessing about her film roles and sexuality, because it makes her and the characters she plays more interesting.
The actress insists she’ll never answer questions about her sexual preferences, because she likes to keep it a mystery.
“Ambiguity is my favourite thing ever,” she tells Paris-based Mastermind magazine. “In terms of sexuality? For sure. And also in making films, if you perfectly answer every question, you don’t allow for people to have their own experience and really indulge a thought.
“I feel the same way about how we f*** each other. You don’t want to know everything all the time.”
Kristen, who has dated a handful of girls since her romance with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson fizzled out following her fling with director Rupert Sanders, also told the publication there needs to be more coming-of-age movies about women.
“Right now, I’m so aware of the fact that we’ve watched, cinematically, men and their way into their bodies and do physical things that feel fundamental to this male perspective (sic),” she added. “In every coming of age story, we see about a young girl, even if it’s the truest, most sincere thing.
“What’s lacking is the physical honesty of actual female experience and the way we discover our bodies. It’s like we’re scared of using certain words.”
Meanwhile, the actress is currently preparing to bring the Charlie’s Angels film franchise back to life.
Kristen will star in director Elizabeth Banks’ new movie, alongside Naomi Scott and newcomer Ella Balinska, and she recently confessed she’s struggling with some of the film’s fight scenes.
“I have been boxing a bit, which I have never done,” she said. “I am so addicted to it. As soon as I have to actually start sparring though, I realise what I am doing is intended to fight people… (and) it really is assaulting (people) and I really hate it.”
