Country star Alan Jackson is mourning the loss of his 28-year-old son-in-law.
Ben Selecman, the Assistant District Attorney for Davidson County in Tennessee, died from head injuries after a fall in West Palm Beach, Florida on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. He was married to Jackson’s oldest daughter, Mattie.
Details of the accident have not been released.
A statement confirming his death reads: “The District Attorney’s Office is saddened to announce the passing of Assistant DA Ben Selecman… The DA’s Office is thankful for every day that Ben had the opportunity to serve the people of Davidson County. Our prayers are with Ben’s family. He will be truly missed.”
Jackson will be able to take the weekend to spend time with his family after cancelling shows in North and South Carolina earlier this week due to Hurricane Florence, which is expected to lash the states from Thursday night.
