A scheduled heavyweight bout in Minnesota ended in shocking fashion before it ever began on Friday.

Fighting on the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) card at the Minneapolis Armory, boxer Curtis Harper was set to face off against Efe Ajagba when he abruptly walked off the ring right after the opening bell rang.

Ajagba was awarded a victory by disqualification, improving his record to to 7-0. Harper’s record fell to 13-6.

According to PBC commentator Jordan Hardy, Harper’s walkout was over a pay dispute.

“If y’all are wondering I spoke to Harper and he said he walked out of the ring because he’s not getting paid enough to fight and that he wants respect,” Hardy wrote on Twitter.
