‘HOW WAS YOUR SERVICE?’: U.K. paramedic accused of having sex with patient
A U.K. paramedic allegedly had a different kind of treatment in mind when called to a patient’s home.
And now he’s banned from the medical profession for doing the deed.
It all started in January 2017, Trevor Finnerty, a then-member of the West Midlands Ambulance Service, responded to a woman’s emergency call.
According to The U.K. Sun, the married man began making moves on the female wearing a backless nightie as soon as she opened the door, suggesting that they go upstairs.
It was there Finnerty, who has 30 years of experience in his profession, performed oral sex on the patient. She also performed oral sex on him, according to the paper.
After the rapid response vehicle worker left the house the woman received a text from Finnerty that read: “This is u friendly ambulance service, how was u service.”
The woman, who reportedly suffered from bipolar disorder, then called police to report “she had sex with a man named Trevor who was outside her property in a car,” according to The Sun.
Finnerty was later arrested and made some startling admissions in an interview with the Health and Care Professions Tribunals Service.
The BBC reports the paramedic claimed he turned down the patient’s invitation into her bedroom, but when she “threatened to tell his boss that he had done it anyway,” he agreed to her demands “out of fear.”
However, the panel found his side of the story to be “unconvincing,” and on Thursday, banned him from the medical field.
Finnerty has since “undergone counselling” and is “keeping himself busy with church activities,” the panel said.
He was not charged with any criminal offence.
