Everyone has clashes with their family members once in a while — it’s common.

What’s not common? Going to war to fight against your uncle.

But that’s exactly what William Hitler did.

The son of Adolf Hitler’s half-brother, Alois, aspired to become a part of his uncle’s regime, though, was unwilling to surrender his British passport to do so.

In retaliation of the Nazi leader’s demand, he wrote an article titled “Why I Hate My Uncle” and wanted to fight for the allies.

However, many forces thought ‘Willy’ was a spy, so he wrote to President Franklin Roosevelt and after a review by the FBI, was given permission to join the U.S. Navy.
