‘GET THE DEVIL OUT’: Woman allegedly set couch ablaze in attempted exorcism
What’s the best way to exorcise a demon?
Set a couch on fire, apparently.
That’s what a Louisiana woman allegedly did on Aug. 11 in what she claimed as a way to “get the devil out” of her trailer. The Miami Herald reported firefighters in Denham Springs rushed to the home of 53-year-old JoLynn Winn on a call for a trailer fire.
Upon arrival, the battler of flames found a badly damaged living room thanks to a burning couch. Winn reportedly told firefighters she set the couch on fire to remove Satan from her home.
According to news outlet WBRZ, The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. She was then arrested by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office and charged with simple arson.
The woman is still in jail held on $125,000 bond.
